Passenger & Fleet EV Charging


Recent advances in battery technologies have added momentum to the move toward electric vehicles (EVs). Electric-powered vehicles are increasingly being viewed as an attractive and practical alternative to the high fuel prices, dependence on foreign energy supplies, and environmental damage wrought by the use of fossil fuels.

AV is helping to pave the road for reduced dependence on gasoline powered vehicles by introducing convenient, safe, and truly fast charging stations that recharge EV battery packs in less than ten minutes - rendering concerns about EV driving range a thing of the past. With its new, universal EV charging adapter, AV seeks to ensure safe and reliable charging for all EVs and HEVs. Scheduled for commercial rollout in 2010, the PosiCharge EV fast charge system is a powerful tool that can help enable the broader adoption of EVs in two main categories:


Passenger Electric Vehicles - a network of PosiCharge EV fast charge systems would ensure that EV drivers have access to a ten minute battery charge when and where needed. HEV drivers could be able to drive more miles in electric mode, thereby reducing emissions and consuming more electricity, which is typically less expensive than gasoline or diesel.

Fleet Electric Vehicles - fleet EVs could come in multiple vehicle types and duty cycles, from inner-city taxis and buses to medium range delivery vans and utility repair vehicles. A few EV fast charge systems installed in a maintenance yard or a family of systems in the city could help fleet operators maintain throughput while reducing emissions and fuel expenses.
